Discovering How To Forgive Yourself; Experiencing A Lifetime Set Free in Just Ten Days!
We've all done things in our lives that would be nice if we had not done. Often these things can cause us sadness as we are reminded about them, while different things cause us such heartache we are able to barely live with what we have done and we find it hard, or even impossible, to excuse ourselves for our actions. Perhaps you can understand what I am saying. You are so abashed of your actions that youve done that you can't comprehend you might or should excuse yourself. As an alternative you are feeling all you are able to do is take the remainder of your life paying penance for it, in hopes which will take away the overpowering burden of guilt you live with each day.
Regardless of your past wrongdoing, you may be released from the burden you now carry, caused by your unwillingness to forgive yourself. You may have sought the clemency of The Lord God for what youve done, yet if you have failed to excuse yourself, you will remain defeated, even bondage, till you choose to be obedient with the Word of our Lord and pardon yourself.
Often , when we look at the original meaning and intent of of a word, we will be able to better know how to use it in our lives. This is true as we look at the Greek word for forgiveness which means to free fully, i.e. Literally relieve, release, dismiss or let die, pardon, divorce from, depart, dismiss, let go, loose, put ( send ) away, to release, set at liberty.
To all who ask, your Heavenly father offers His gift of forgiveness, meaning; He totally frees, releases, dismisses and pardons us from the debt and guilt of our transgressions. He sets us "body, soul and spirit" at freedom. Nevertheless he does not stop there. He then tells us to forgive others, as well as forgiving ourselves, Just like we've been forgiven, promising to give us the power, by His Holy Spirit, to do so.
How do you go about actually pardoning themselves? There's no exact way but these recommendation could be useful.
First, understand that one has to make the choice to excuse ones self based on God's instruction to do so. To forgive is a choice and an act of the will is necessary to make it happen.
Leviticus 19:18 claims you shall love your neighbour as yourself... To love yourself is a command of Our Lord and love always includes forgiveness.
Second, if you haven't already asked, ask your Heavenly father to forgive you for the wrongs you've done. It is vital to do that prior to working thru forgiving yourself. Remember, He's waiting to excuse you and will graciously do hence if you ask Him.
Nehemiah 9:17 But you are a God of forgiveness, Gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in loving kindness.
Then, sit down quietly with The Lord God and ask the Holy Spirit to show you the things that you haven't let go of or given yourself forgiveness for. Write it all down on a notepad. Be certain and put down all of the specific details list the names of individuals you hurt and the ways that you hurt them. ( No one will see this paper. )
From there express how you feel because of what you did; Are you annoyed at yourself? Do you feel sorry? Undeserving? Be particularly fair, for your Heavenly Father knows it all already. This is the best place to release all of the emotions youve carried or tried to deny.
Now, make the choice to forgive yourself as God has forgiven you. Literally release, dismiss, let die, pardon, let go, loose, put ( send ) away, release and set yourself at freedom from the wrong you are guilty of. Put your evil-doing into His hands and ask Him to cure your emotional injuries and enable you to move forward without regrets, let go of the past and start fresh!
Eventually destroy your list and throw it in the bin as a visual prompt that the guilt of what youve done has been forgiven and carried away, gone forever.
Now, go and experience the healing, peace and freedom that's yours to enjoy as you praise God for His power of forgiveness.
