Having a well-formatted resume is virtually as important as having a well penned resume. Always anticipate that the person you are sending your resume to may have a different version of the computer software than you and accordingly may not be able to read the exactly the same resume you are sending – it could be possible that the margins may re-set, paragraphs may shift, bullet points may change shape, so on.
As a last formatting check point, ask your friends or your family members for assistance in reviewing your resume. Dispatch the resume item via email to a handful of your friends – request them to review the resume and double check that nothing seems out of place.
